This book is a "by year" index for all surnames, organizational names, ship names, slave names, occupations, and article subjects published in our South Carolina Gazette series. Use this book to determine the individual books to go to for detailed newspaper data information that meets your particular search criteria. For example, if you were interested in the ANDERSON surname and saw in the Series Index that the name appeared in years 1754, 1758, and 1761, you would then know to go to the individual ESCN Database Reports books in our South Carolina Gazette series that reference those particular years.
