EXAMPLE SEARCH FEE CALCULATIONS
Example 3 - Single Surname, No Spelling Variations, Regular Rates
If after review of our Online Listing of Surnames, you saw a surname that you were interested in that showed a
total record count of 9 records; the search fee you would need to pay would be $12.
Example 4 - Single Surname, Spelling Variations Included, Regular Rates
If after further review, you found 4 REASONABLE spelling variations for that primary surname that you
wished to include in your search and those 4 spelling variations totaled 40 additional records, your search fee
would then be based on a total of 49 records overall (9 for the primary surname + 40 more for the
4 spelling variations), resulting in a search fee of $15.
Example 5 - Two Different Surnames, No Spelling Variations, Regular Rates
If after review of our Online Listing of Surnames, you were interested in searching for the 2 distinctly different
surnames of Moore and Clark and saw that each of those surnames (with no spelling variations included)
showed a total of 40 records each, you would have 2 separate Surname Searches with 2 separate search fees
involved with the search fee for each separate search being $15 each. The total search fee to complete both
searches would be $30 ($15 for Moore and $15 for Clark).
Example 6 - Two Different Surnames, Spelling Variations Included, Regular Rates
If after further review of our Online Listing of Surnames for the Moore and Clark surnames, you saw a
reasonable spelling variation for the Moore surname that you wished to include in your search and that spelling
variation showed a total of 30 records, your search fee for the Moore search would then become $17 (for the
combined total of 70 records [40 records for Moore and 30 records for the spelling variation]) and your new
total search
fee for both searches would then become $33 ($18 for Moore (and spelling variation) and $15 for Clark).
Example 7 - Single Surname, No Spelling Variations, Large Record Surcharge Applies
To illustrate the use of the Large Record Surcharge, suppose you see a surname of interest in our Online Listing
of Surnames with a record count of 429 records. In this case, your search fee would be $33 ($27 + $3 large
record surcharge + $3 large record surcharge), since the total record count is two (2) full additional 100
records over the record count of 200. Note: The first $3 large record surcharge is incurred when you get
to a total of 300 records and the second $3 large record surcharge is incurred when you get to a total of 400
records. Since we do not charge for "portions" of 100 additional records, there is no additional charge for the
remaining 29 records in this example.
Example 8 - Single Surname, Spelling Variations Included, Large Record Surcharge Applies
After further review of our Online Listing of Surnames, you see one reasonable spelling variation that you
would like to include in the search above as well. The record count for that particular spelling variation is 85
records. You now have a new total record count of 514 records (429 records for the primary surname noted
previously and 85 more records for the newly found spelling variation). Your search fee for this search would
now be $36 ($27 + $3 large record surcharge + $3 large record surcharge + $3 large record surcharge),
since the total record count is now three (3) full additional 100 records over the record count of 200.
Note: Again, there is no additional charge for the remaining 14 records in this example.
